Description:

Essential Functions:

· Position reports to Lead VFX artist and Art Director

· Responsible for creating in-game particle and shader effects for environments, characters and cut scenes

· Possesses the ability to problem solve in the VFX realm with a variety of creative and innovative techniques

· Maintain performance of the game environment and yet still achieving visual quality

Abilities:

· Strong understanding of the particle FX system in at least one 3D package

· Conceptual and imaginative skills in creating unique looks in the VFX realm

· Can visually design and implement stylized non-photorealistic visual effects

· Strong understanding of movement for animating particles and textures in a variety of in game situations

· 2D compositing skills are a plus but not required

· Proven Oral & Written Communications Skills

· Proven Organizational skills

· Can meet deadlines

· Must be able to anticipate art related requirements from design documentation

Functional Knowledge:

· Photoshop

· MAYA, or 3DSMax

· After Effects or like 2d compositing package

· Version Control Software: Perforce or Alien Brain

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must have strong understanding of VFX development and implementation in a video game environment

· Must have strong people skills

· Must be willing to relocate to Denver, CO area for full-time employment
