This position will be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing the 2D visual assets for the LEGO Universe video game. This includes the in-game interface, front-end, title websites and print collateral. 

Essential Functions:

  • Must study design constantly
  • Responsible for designing and producing all UI and 2D visual assets for video games
  • Responsible for designing and producing all 2D/Print and promotional material for video games
  • Will assist in creating the documentation necessary to maintain and describe all processes and procedures used in creating the visuals and technology for the user interface
  • Must be an active participant in a bi-monthly Art Team meeting discussing Art related issues to productivity, process, work flow and quality
  • Must be an effective listener, able to resolve problems, empathic and decisive
  • Must participate in game play test sessions.
  • Position reports to Art Director

Abilities:

  • Must have high graphic design skills
  • Must be able to produce motion graphics or flash animated graphics
  • Must be able to assess risks
  • Must be able to anticipate art related requirements from design documentation
  • Must be able to take responsibility for decisions and actions
  • Proven Oral & Written Communications Skills
  • Proven Organizational and Analytical skills

Superior Knowledge:

  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • HTML or Dreamweaver
  • Flash

Functional knowledge in following a big plus:

  • MAYA or 3DSMax
  • After Effects
  • Outlook
  • Word
  • Excel
  • Version Control Software

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an art degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must have strong people skills
  • Must be willing to relocate to Denver, CO area for full-time employment
