Boulder Digital Arts Workshop: Greenscreen Video Techniques

Hey you never know,  your next job might be might be bringing people into a virtual world, so it wouldn’t hurt  to get  comfortable working with greenscreen  footage and understanding the lighting techniques behind it. Once again, I have not taken any courses yet at Boulder Digital Arts, but I have only heard good things.  --- Cornell

Greenscreen Video Techniques

Registration is required for this offering (below).

Description:
This exciting workshop will be split into two parts - shooting and editing.  The instructor will actually be demonstrating these techniques live, not just talking about them! The first half of the evening will cover shooting and lighting techniques when shooting HDV with a greenscreen background. The second half of the evening will cover using and keying the greenscreen in Final Cut Pro. You'll get to see how a proper greenscreen shot is set up, lit, and videotaped as well as how it is then imported into FCP, and then inserting a new background.

Presented as a Lecture-Style Workshop:
These are our most affordable training programs designed to introduce a subject quickly and efficiently. Students can take notes from the instructor's projected computer screen, and/or bring their own computer to follow along. Lecture-style workshops are normally held on weekday evenings from 6 pm – 9 pm and contain a maximum of 20 students (average is 5-15).

Who Should Take This:
It will be assumed that participants have experience working with a videocamera, lights, and a non-linear editing system (FCP will be used in this workshop to demonstrate).

Instructor:
Antony CooperAntony has directed and produced many award winning broad, corporate and documentary videos, here and in the UK. Several years in music TV production for MTV and Polygram Records include names such as the Rolling Stones, the Who, Elvis Costello and INXS. Other projects include Director of on-air operations for the Denver based Scandinavian Channel, and Director of Photography on award winning Environmental documentaries "The Nature of Cities" and "Transforming Energy".
