Idol Minds is seeking an experienced technical artist to envision, design, and implement methods and technologies that ensure the smoothest possible content creation path. This position will interface various other disciplines, so strong communication and teamwork skills are highly valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Work with Art Director and other leads to design, manage, and maintain content creation pipelines
o Develop processes and methods to reduce technical errors on the part of artists
o Design and build tools and scripts that allow artists to focus on art, rather than technical issues
o Find creative solutions to technical problems that arise throughout the development cycle
o Be a liaison between art and programming staffs
o Provide clear documentation of all tools and procedures
o Instruct junior artists in the technical aspects of asset creation

REQUIRED SKILLS:
o A fundamental understanding of console architectures and their limitations related to content creation
o Ability to design and build complex tools and scripts in Maya
o A deep understanding of Maya’s tools and how to get the most out of them
o A clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with others to understand the needs of all departments
o Full understanding of next gen technologies such as shader development and lighting models

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o 3-5 years of game development in a technical artist role
o Multiple shipped titles
