Digital Animation Center Guest Speaker - Paula Goldstein - Disney Lighter

Paula Goldstein went to Tyler School of Art, Temple University Philadelphia. Graduating with honors she received her BFA in Painting and an MFA in Graphic Design with a thesis project in Computer Graphics. While at school she also studied photography and experimental animation.
Following graduation Paula moved to New York and began her career working as an illustrator, graphic designer, and Art Director for broadcast television. While working at NBC network she began her training as 2d and 3d motion graphics animator. In this capacity she won 5 Emmy Awards for excellence in Graphic design and Art Direction for news and sports programming. She also worked for a while freelance as 3d Generalist for commercials and film trailers.

In 2004 Paula went to Toronto for a project at CORE working on the CG animated feature The Wild. She moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to work on the Disney’s Meet the Robinsons. Since then she has worked as a lighter/compositor for both visual effects and 3D animated feature films and shorts, including Bolt, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Prep and Landing. She is currently works at Disney Feature Animation as lighting artist on Rapunzel.
