Sony Online Entertainment’s Denver Studio is looking for a skilled Lead Game Designer!


· Lead team to design and develop functional, fun and compelling game play
· Maintain knowledge of the latest console and online game features, technologies and development techniques
· Work with property holders to utilize characters and environments from licensed products in a manner acceptable to the property holder and overall game design
· Develop and champion game vision
· Mentor other designers and give detailed feedback on work in progress


· 3-5 years industry experience as Senior or Lead Game Designer
· Experience working with proprietary or off-the-shelf editors and/or scripting languages
· Deep familiarity with trading card games, microtransaction models and Massively Multiplayer Titles
· Possess understanding of and ability to critically evaluate online and competitive titles
· Thorough understanding of game development process
· Background in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering preferred
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Strong Microsoft Office skills
· Minimum of 3 shipped game titles preferred
· Experience leading a team of 5 or more designers


· Strong leadership abilities and desire to “own” a project
· Lead a team of designers to design, document and develop functional, fun, and compelling game play
· Management of content pipelines/workflow for Design
· Work closely with Test to create tests plans and iterate on level design, pacing, balance, and general tuning issues
· Oversee data entry and management of game objects
· Review design documentation and other archival or review tasks as required
