Got questions about the state's incentive program for film, television, video games and industrial productions?

If so, bring them, to a special film incentive seminar co-sponsored by the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media and the Colorado Film and Video Association Thursday, Sept. 17 in Denver.

The Seminar will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the 8th floor conference room at the World Trade Center, 1625 Broadway, in Denver.

It is the first of four such seminars the film office plans to conduct around the state.

Thursday's session will feature feedback on the current state incentive program from Kiowa Winans, a co-owner of Double Edge Films, which produced the SciFi sensation, "Ink," a Colorado-produced feature that received an incentive check from the state.

Other speakers include Kevin Shand, Director of the newly created Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media, and Colorado Economic Development Commission Manager, Shela Tatro, who has been responsible for the incentive program the past three years. There will be ample opportunity for questions from attendees.

Colorado's 10 Per Cent Rebate

Colorado's current incentive program offers a 10 per cent cash rebate on qualified production expenditures for producers of film, television, video game and industrial projects. Local producers are favored under the current law.

"We'll talk a little it about the incentive as it is today," said Shand, "so people will get a very realistic handle on what the process is."

Shand said he's asked Winans to be frank about the state's incentive program, laying out the "good, bad, whatever -- the hoops they had to jump through."
