JOB ALERT!!! Senior Game Designer - Sony Online Entertainment

Based in San Diego, Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) has an array of games in development at studios in Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Seattle, WA, Tucson, AZ and Taiwan including The Agency, Free Realms and DC Universe Online. These new titles are being designed to push the envelope of online entertainment quality, innovation and delivery.

Sony Online Entertainment’s Denver Studio is looking for a Senior Game Designer! If you like to work hard and play harder, then Colorado is the place to live! Our studio is located in the hip "LoDo" area of Denver, one block from Coors Field and walking distance to the 16th Street Mall, the primary shopping and entertainment strip of Downtown Denver. We enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year and hiking, biking, climbing and skiing are all right in our backyard!

Our Denver Studio is the developer of Legends of Norrath, Star Wars Galaxies™ Trading Card Game, Pirates Constructible Strategy Game™ Online, Star Chamber: The Harbinger Saga, and Stargate™ Online Trading Card Game.

· Design game systems and content for online strategy games

· Analyze game systems and individual game objects for balance

· Write design documents, articles, rulebooks, and flavor text

· Create game tutorials and scenarios

· Review designs and provide direction on the following: Gameplay, UI, client server considerations, performance, difficulty level, file size constraints, help systems, and community features

· An absolute passion for innovative and fun video games

· Bring energy and a positive attitude to the workplace

· Ability to think creatively and communicate opinions clearly and professionally

· Strong knowledge of strategy games (online and physical)

· An eye towards fun and quality

· Strong creative writing skills a plus

· Console development experience a plus

· Scripting and programming experience a plus

· UI and AI design a plus

· Ability to evaluate designs for technical feasibility a plus.

· Design/playtesting work on at least two released products.
