SOE, the company responsible for the pioneering, global EverQuest® entertainment phenomenon, has developed and/or published a number of ground-breaking and genre-defining games, including EverQuest®, EverQuest®II, Star Wars Galaxies®, PlanetSide®, The Matrix Online, EverQuest® Online Adventures, Champions of Norrath, Untold Legends and Field Commander.

Sony Online Entertainment’s Denver Studio, developers of Star Wars Galaxies™ Trading Card Game, Legends of Norrath™, Pirates Constructible Strategy Game ™ Online, Star Chamber: The Harbinger Saga, and Stargate ™ Online Trading Card Game, is looking for a Concept Artist. Essential duties:
• Relevant experience with 2-3 titles to their credit in Video Games or Film.

• Rapidly produce professional concept art within time and style constraints.

• Ensure that assets are in accordance with the approved game style, technically sound and completed within the scheduled timeframe with some supervisor assistance on more complex assets.

• Understand simple through complex asset creation, technical requirements and basics of work flow.

• Can generate simple and standard assets, and complex assets under regular supervision.

• Document technique, process, R and D, and best practices used during project development.

• Work with game designers, producers and art staff on design and presentation of art.

Qualifications:
• Candidates must show samples and/or portfolio to be considered.

• In addition to strong concept drawing, must have skill in one or more related areas: Illustration (digital painting), modeling, texturing, animation, generalist.
• Demonstrate traditional art skills and creativity. Candidate may be asked to draw a concept during the interview process.

• Working knowledge of Photoshop.

• Proficient in one or more of the following programs: Flash, After Effects, Maya, 3d Studio Max, Z-brush.
• Professional full time industry experience creating game or web assets with associated technical requirements.

• Possess basic knowledge of game engines and artist tools.

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Other Desirable Skills
• Skilled in one or more of these related areas: Animation, Rigging, 3D Environmental Art, 3D Character Art, Lighting, Shader Development.
