Job Description and Responsibilities:
Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in Lakewood Colorado is currently seeking a Chair of Game Art. The Chair of Game Art will serve as the primary leader of the new Game
Art Program and Department.

Responsibilities
• Implement and oversee all facets of the new Game Art Program
• Drive the development and growth of the new Game Art Program
• Provide oversight and ongoing development of Game Art Program curriculum to assure continual attention to student, program and professional industry needs
• Hire, develop and lead department faculty
• Teach and advise students
• Oversee and develop teaching expertise of department faculty
• Participate fully on the Council of Chairs and on college committees
• Serve as a key liaison to appropriate professional organizations
and industries

Requirement Qualifications:
• Broad knowledge of and current experience in the gaming industry and game development, with a focus on game design and art asset creation
• Experience with cinematics, story and character development, storyboarding, film theory, interactivity and game play theory
• Strong technical knowledge and awareness of the tools and processes of game art creation and the game industry
• Terminal degree or its equivalent in experience
• Forward thinker; interested in new initiatives
• Self starter / ability to "hit the ground running"
• Strong and collaborative leader of/with faculty, students, other departments and administration
• Commitment to the success of the new program, to undergraduate education and to students
• Capacity to increase the national reputation of the program
• Administrative experience
• Enthusiasm and success in college teaching
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Evidence of continuous professional development within the discipline
