Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Must be able to develop a CGI shot from start to finish, including animations for interactive or broadcast usage.
• Work with Art Directors, Photographers and 3D Modelers in developing creative assets.
• Must be able to problem solve creatively as well as follow art direction.
• A DFX artist works with the creative team from the beginning providing insight and strategy in the development of a shot.
Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years experience as a CGI artist building models and environments
• Proficient in 3D Lighting, Texutre and Composition with still photo assets
• Knowledge of a broad spectrum of creative digital issues, specifically an understanding of the execution abilities, and limitations, of art and print production
• Must be comfortable working under pressure and in a high-traffic setting that may demand quick turnarounds and dealing with many types of media
• A superior working knowledge of Photoshop and both traditional and digital photography
• Backgrounds in pre-press, photography and the ability to sketch are helpful
• Proficiency in other platforms, such as After Effects and Shake
• Experience in automotive rendering and retouching is a substantial bonus
Educational Requirements:
• BS or BFA in an art related field, with a focus on 3D, Visual Effects, photography, post-production, design, or fine art.
